Hi Jay1 and Jay2,
My friend Sue and I are soon going to complete the 444 miles of the wonderful Susquehanna. We are doing it in segments. We started May 2007 and completed 242 miles by the end of the summer.
We started out this Memorial Day weekend from the Harding Access upriver from Pittston. By Monday, Memorial Day, we had made it to Sunbury at Shikellamy State Park. My husband trucked us back and forth. We spent two weekends camping overnight and one weekend with the camper. We leave from home (Forkston, near Mehoopany) this Friday night with kayaks, truck, and camper. I am retired but Sue and my husband work, so we won't get into the campground in Liverpool till late. We have a week to finish the river. We'll start out Saturday the 7th.
Both Sue and I have thoroughly loved your diary. We thought about crossing Rt. 17 to get to the Blue Dolphin, but just paddled on. We are paddling in Pungo 120's (12 foot long). They are plastic like yours and have received their share of scrapes and gouges.
We are writing in a diary also. My daughter-in-law is going to set up a blog for me to put the diary on.
Again, the your diary is great!!
