depends - yes if coming from spring start see below.
Season and Hours:
02/04/2007 10:29 AM Hank McComas - Concession canoe and kayak trips arrive between 1:30 PM and 5:00 PM. Signs indicate that the facility should be cleared by those who are not a part of the grand plan, i.e. paid up to run down the river. I was also told that it is a ticketable offense to paddle upstream from this point. Here it is folks - a one way only controlled access toll waterway. If you saw the talent level of the boaters coming down the 2+ knot current, perhaps it is understandable from a safety perspective. Novices paddling upstream blocking the channel and novices pushed downstream by the current would ony add to the number of capsizes already occuring. On the bright side the fee for the shuttle is only $6.00 per person and $6.00 per boat. Entrance fees are charged at the Spring entrance and a per person use fee is also charged. Take your boat and people to the spring upriver launch site, unload and then drive your car to the take out and shuttle the one driver back to the spring for the cheapest way to run the river.
04/09/2003 10:29 AM Hank McComas - There is a much larger parking area across the run, visible in this picture, where boats can be launched from the unimproved bank. The bathroom facilities are large enough to change clothes in.
